OPEN TABLE: Grabbing a bite is within easy reach in mid-July at Montreal’s Square Victoria, where park benches back up to planters offering seasonal fare such as strawberries, lettuce, fennel, parsley, basil and thyme. The public snack boxes are a project of Innovation Youth, which hires kids to help them learn to grow food, build workplace skills and develop their social, family and academic lives. The organization’s website says that over the past seven years it has built expertise in urban agriculture. Photo Credit: John A. Bray
