DOMAINE DE L’URBAIN: Grapes bejewel vines trained between the sidewalk and a parking lot at the corner of Montreal’s Rue de la Montagne and Boulevard De Maisonneuve.
The vintage shines among the other edibles that adorn the narrow strip, just one of the city gardens that are the work of Destination Center-ville, a program that, according to its website, is “dedicated to developing, improving and promoting downtown Montreal activities.”
The harvest is up to the passerby.
“People, when they go by, if they see something when it’s ready, they can take it,” said Guy Danis, who was watering the garden on a recent Sunday morning.
